OUR HISTORY

The Graham Academy was founded by Christina G. Ouellette to enhance her ongoing commitment to provide meaningful care and services to children with special needs and to support their families in all their efforts.

In January of 2000, Ms. Ouellette established Children’s Behavioral Health Services, Inc. to fulfill this mission with “accountability, integrity, reliability, resourcefulness, creativity, compassion and empathy”.  Children’s Behavioral Health  Services, Inc. has experienced organizational growth since it’s inception in part due to it’s commitment to professional service and personal responsiveness to families, school districts and county agencies and the community at large.

As Children’s Behavioral Health Services grew, Ms. Ouellette saw a need for and believed that she would be able to help contribute to the unique educational and social needs of the children and families serviced through Children’s Behavioral Health Services and other agencies like it.  Thus was borne the concept of a school that would meet the needs of the special education community, The Graham Academy.  Property was purchased in Luzerne Township  and staff was hired and trained to understand the unique needs of the students they would be working with.  The school began with it’s first student in February of 2008 and has continued to grow in numbers of students and staff ever since.
