1. Do you follow Pennsylvania Academic Standards?  What about your Curriculum?

Yes.  In order to obtain and maintain the certification that we have as a State Certified Private Academic School we are required to submit our curriculum to the state for approval. Our current state certification is always on display in our school office.

2. Are your staff certified?

Yes all of are teachers are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in elementary education and special education or elementary education and private school special education.

3. Is my child allowed to have a TSS?

Yes your child may have a TSS from which ever organization you work with.

4. How is the cost of the school paid for?

The Tuition at the school can either be paid privately or publicly. Depending on how your child has been referred to the Academy.

5. Do you work with only low functioning children?

No, We work with children along the entire Autism Spectrum and children with social and emotional challenges.

6. What are your student teacher Ratios?

Autism Classrooms:

• 1 Teacher to 8 student maximum
• 1 Para Professional
• Additional support as needed

Social and Emotional Support Classrooms:

• 1 Teacher to 9 students maximum
• Additional support as needed

7. Do you use Applied Behavioral Analysis?

No, We use Cognitive rehabilitation therapy, Overseen by a Dr. MacAlpine a developmental neuroscientist.

8. How many children are at the school?

Student enrollment varies from year to year however at full capacity their would be no more then 50 students in the school.

9. Where does my child attend after the Graham Academy?

One of the Goals at the Graham Academy is to place your student back into their home district.

10. Do you provide lunch?

No, We ask the family to provide lunch and the child has an opportunity to heat up their lunch.

11. Does the Graham Academy provide Transportation?

No, Transportation is usually provided by the home district or the parents.
